Everything you ever wanted to know about Rupay card

Rupay continues its winning run in the economy

Have you ever made an online payment? Have you ever felt the pinch of high transaction charges? If so, you are not alone. For example, international payment gateways like Visa and MasterCard charge high transaction fees. Further, in the case of Visa and MasterCard, banks pay a certain charge on joining the foreign payment gateway network. On the other hand, Rupay Card brings about a simplified payment transaction system in India.

Launched in the year 2012 by the National Payments Corporation of India Ltd(NPCI), Rupay has revolutionized the payment ecosystem in the country with low transaction costs, nil joining fees, etc.

Rupay Card Basics
Everything you wanted to know about Rupay

In this blog, you will get answers to all your questions on the Rupay Card.

1. What is Rupay Card?

Rupay Card is an Indian variant of the card payment scheme as compared to international players like Visa and Mastercard. Introduced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in the year 2012, Rupay is used for primarily domestic payments.

2. Features of Rupay

  • Inbuilt insurance coverage
  • Direct link with government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
  • Regular cashback and merchant service benefits like fuel discounts
  • Free access to airport lounges

3. How to apply for a Rupay Card?

To avail a Rupay card, one needs to submit one’s id proof cum address proof along with two passport size photographs. All the public, private, regional cum cooperative banks issue Rupay cards in India. A form fill up at one’s branch along with the KYC requirements is the prerequisite for a Rupay card.

4. What are the transaction costs in Rupay?

As compared to international counterparts, Rupay comes with low transaction charges. For example, for a bank transaction of Rs. 2000, if Rupay charges Rs. 2.50, international payment systems charge Rs. 3.50.

5. Difference between Rupay Cards and international cards?

  • Transaction cost: As compared to international cards, Rupay comes with low operational costs.
  • Joining fees: There is a quarterly fee to be paid for joining the international card network as compared to nil in the case of  Rupay.
  • Security: Rupay is comparatively safer due to the limitation of its operation to India
  • Bank Network: Unlike Rupay, the international card network does not include small banks like rural and cooperative banks within its network.
  • International acceptance: Rupay is only acceptable within India as compared to Visa and Mastercard which is accepted internationally.

6. What are the Security features of Rupay?

While using  Rupay for a transaction, authentication happens with the entry of an OTP sent to the registered mobile number. Further, there is 256-bit encryption rendering Rupay difficult to hack.

7. Benefits of Rupay

  • Accidental insurance coverage
  • Low cost, easily accessible by people
  • Direct link with government schemes to avail added benefits
  • Faster bank transactions
  • Increases the popularity of digital payments in the Indian economy.

8. What are the variants of Rupay Cards?

On a higher level, Rupay can be classified as Credit, Debit and Pre-paid cards.

Based on the transaction limits, Rupay Credit card can be further classified as:

(a)Rupay Classic Credit Card: With an accidental insurance coverage up to Rs. 1 lakh

(b)Rupay Platinum Credit Card: With an accidental insurance coverage up to Rs. 2 lakh

(c)Rupay Select Credit Card: With an accidental insurance coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh

On the whole, Rupay continues its winning run in the Indian economy. Interestingly, post-2016 demonetization, the demand for digital payments and Rupay is increasing on a commensurate basis.

1. Fraud detection

The banking channel is witnessing increasing levels of fraud off-late. For example, the Punjab bank crisis is a point in case. A high level of artificial intelligence intervention will keep a preventive check on the fraud. The artificial intelligence algorithm will segregate between fraud and the not so fraud transactions in the initial stages. In other words, AI will bring in better fraud monitoring cum effective decision making.

2. Better payment settlement with artificial intelligence

Were you stuck up with the thoughts of your impending payments? Or did you encounter the hassle of improper payment?  Then, artificial intelligence is the need of the hour for your brand. Be it claims settlement or insurance settlement, artificial intelligence ensures an automatic and precise payment mode. No more worry about delayed payment settlements. It will be a thing of the past.

3. Reduction in false declines

Banking channels face the constant issue of payment decline at the nth moment. It is due to multiple miscellaneous factors. Either, the network has timed out or the payment has been declined at the sender’s or receiver’s side. In either of the cases, artificial intelligence can reduce unintended human error by automating the process.

4. Predictive analysis

Predictive analysis refers to the prediction of future events using repetitive patterns, choices and decision making. From where to invest your money to analyzing the future prospect of your purchase, artificial intelligence acts as your best friend. The role of artificial intelligence in the predictive analysis is further going to increase with the enhanced dimensional applications. Bank security and national security are a point in question.

5. Faster customer service using artificial intelligence

Customer service feature using chatbots is one of the very interesting features of artificial intelligence. How do you feel when you get a prompt and quick response to your queries? Satisfying isn’t it? Further, your trust in the brand amplifies manifold. Artificial intelligence is taking the chatbot feature to a completely new level. From understanding the choice of the customer to the future decision of the customer, artificial intelligence has gone two notches high.

Chatbots have different applications in domains apart from the banking sector. For example, endurance is a chatbot designed specifically for dementia patients. It recognizes the change in memory patterns of the patient, thereby giving an alert to the family members.

Eight reasons to be addicted to Email marketing tips for E-commerce

Email marketing strategies to be in the top league

Did you know that email marketing affects the purchasing decision of 59% of the customers? Email marketing attracts 40 times more customers as compared to social media marketing. Further, a study shows that over 30% of the emails are opened on the basis of the subject line alone.

If you are an e-commerce company or a startup, email marketing should be your core focus to build your business. In the course of this blog, you will learn to swim in the ocean of email marketing.

Email marketing
Email marketing for your business

1. Welcome Mail for Email marketing

“Athithi Devo Bhava”, Guests are God. Yes, customers are your guests. And they deserve a graceful treatment. A first impression goes a long way in maintaining your customers. Hence, it’s imperative that you have a thoughtful and well-framed mail for your new customers. Ideally, the mail must include a brief about the company explained through videos, infographics, pdfs, etc. Also, explain in detail, the steps to be followed for customer support. This shows the gesture of being loved and cared for.

2. Promotional Mail

How do you build loyal customers? One way is through quality content, another way is by prioritizing returning customers.  Hence, make sure you send offer emails to your ardent customers. Ensure that the promotion split up is clearly explained, leaving no room for confusion.

3. Carting out Mail

Imagine your bus breaking down minutes before you reach your dream destination. This is the same feeling when your customers abandon your cart during the last leg of the payment transaction. Brands have come out with interesting techniques to remind the customers about their abandoned carts. It ranges from personalized messages loaded with emotions to comeback videos. Hence, be unique in your abandon cart reminder emails to win back your customers.

4. Attractive template design for email marketing

Readability and visibility are very important for any marketing email. No matter how good the content is, the poor appearance turns off any customer. Also, ensure the compatibility of the email with both mobile and desktop. Bad visibility turns off potential customers in the initial stages leading to huge revenue loss.

5. Encourage reviews

Encouraging reviews is a strategic move to increase your visibility by connecting with your customers. In a digital world, word of mouth spreads far and wide. In other words, a customized review tag along with your email is the way ahead to get valuable feedback from your loyal customers.

6. Grow subscribers list by email marketing

Make sure that you capture the emails of all the customers who visit your e-commerce website. Applications like send fox and MailChimp has inbuilt forms to capture the visitor information in a specific format. Nevertheless, give an option to the customers to gracefully opt-out of the mailing list.

Further, make sure to systematically segment your list to avoid spam emails. For example, the categorization of customers as returning, occasional, etc could go a long way in growing the subscribers’ list.

7. Mail Automation

Automated email campaigns give a three-sixty degree analysis of the email performance. For example, there is a clear estimate of unsubscribers, no: of clicks, opens, etc. Snovio and send fox applications allows you to run automated email campaigns.

8. Seasonal Email

Festivals and seasons have a close place in the hearts of people. Hence, seasonal emails are the best way to capitalize on the emotions of the people. It is a good practice to send a customized promotional email with a festival or season flavor. There are more chances of positive customer response on the same. In this way, a lifelong relationship gets built up with the customers.

For example, the runtime could range from one day to several months. Also, there is an option for automated ads for better post visibility and outreach.

Hence, if you are a startup, use ads as the anchor to row your businesses. Trust me, the seashore becomes visible at an arm’s distance.

3. Unique content for marketing

If you want to be different, think differently. Being unique and different makes you stand out in the business domain. Experiment with diverse posts on your page. Put on your thinking caps, get wacky, use gifs, use 2 min teaser videos, try out memes, etc. For example, an engaging story on why the audience should try out Lenovo Laptop is more significant than presenting a generic product update.

4. Engagement with peer business groups

Do you engage with other peer groups n facebook? Do you leave messages on the peer groups in your technology domain? It’s the best way to share and gain knowledge. The two-way communication is instrumental in building your networks and increasing popularity. It will naturally translate into more likes cum comments.

5. Timeline for sharing content

Your facebook page has around 5 posts per day, but poor responses turning you off? Getting your timing right is the crux of the issue. There are specific times of the day when your audience is active and receptive to your posts. Plan your posts based on audience availability. For example, the audience is more likely to comment and share your posts during break hours.

6. Consistency is the Key

How consistent are you with the postings? Your long term success is largely dependent on this factor. Your destination might be far away, but your effort should continue unabated. Make sure that you use the Insights tab on your page to analyze your post performance. It gives a complete picture of the number of people who have liked, shared and commented on your posts. Plan your future strategy, based on these insights.

7. Use humor

Humour adds spice to your serious marketing content on FaceBook. Ensure that you have the right amount of humor peppered in your marketing content. In this way, you can strike the right chord with your potential customers on a lighter note. Humour is the easiest way to make your customers buy your product.

Seven best business presentation tips that everyone should know

TIPS TO ELEVATE YOUR PRESENTATION SKILLS

There are a number of awesome tips to enhance your speaking skills with a business presentation that will take you to the heights of glory forever.

Confusing isn’t it? This is what happens when you are not precise and concise in your business presentation. The essence of any business presentation lies in putting the right words in the right place in the right way. Conveying the message in the right way is an art that cannot be mastered in a single day. It needs structured preparation and consistent practice.

Business Presentation
Business Presentation Tips

In the course of this blog, I shall walk you through some techniques to give an awesome business presentation.

1. Paraphrase content on the presentation

How does it feel like to be bombarded with voluminous information in one shot? Will you ever be able to recollect it? The human brain has limited attention and even limited recollection capability. The more content you present on the slides, the more cumbersome it becomes for the audience to grasp the information. Hence, it is imperative that you only highlight the bullet points on the slide. Elaborate more on the highlighted bullet points.

The way content is articulated holds more weight than the content itself. Make sure that you speak in a lucid, clear and concise manner. Do not beat around the bush. Speak and highlight only the major and appropriate points. It is a basic human tendency to speak more on a topic that is close to one’s heart. Practice hard in front of a mirror to identify and filter out the irrelevant content in your presentation.

2. Visual content

Do you recollect your childhood memory of reading comics? Have you ever wondered why we prefer comics over plain reading material? It is due to the illustrated visual content. Illustrated visual content is always a cynosure to every human eye. With visual content, the message sent out is more captivating and everlasting. Research suggests that the human brain has the ability to absorb and process visual content in an effective manner. Hence, make sure that you use ample visual content in your presentation. Keep the message visible, visible in the most attractive and direct manner.

3. Audience interaction during the presentation

Do you want your audience to take a power nap during your presentation? Or do you want them to admire your content throughout your presentation? If so, keep them active and energized. A thought-provoking question can do wonders. It will make them feel like an active part of the presentation. Also, short activities during the presentation will keep up the enthusiasm amongst the audience. For example, give an opportunity to a person in the audience to share his views and experiences on a topic.

4. Storytelling technique

The art of storytelling has been in vogue since the time immemorial. We all love grandma’s stories. But, have you ever wondered about the reason behind its efficacy? It never ceases to rekindle fond memories in all of us. The technique in which the story is narrated leaves a lasting impression. Similarly, the storytelling technique when adopted in business presentation breathes fresh air into the life of a presentation. Take the audience along a gripping description with smooth narration. Keep them yearning for more. Create suspense, add emotions and drama to make the emotions more lively.

5. Credible support materials

Building trust with your target audience is very important to send across the right message in an effective manner. There should be credibility in every word you speak and in every fact you put forth. Also, ensure that you do not use an exaggerated tone until and otherwise required. Cite the source of your information. In other words, give appropriate links to the audience to help them with further research on the topic.

6. Creativity in the content of the presentation

How does food taste without the spices? Bland, isn’t it? Similarly, creativity is the spice of the presentation. It makes the content more palatable. There are ample ways to bring in creativity. You could introduce startling statements between slides to keep up the audience’s interest and attention. You can pepper your presentation with quotes and humor. Also, you can narrate personal incidents to make the delivery more lively.

7. Summary slide in the presentation

A quick recap is essential to effectively wind up your presentation. It acts as a call back to the audience. They will recollect the major points and take home a concrete message. Preferably, summarise the major points in concrete, lucid, simple and concise fashion. Also, a summarised conclusion in commensuration with the beginning gives a well-built structure to the presentation. It keeps the audience hooked, they will seamlessly connect between different transitioning ideas.
